Kim Barry, painter, production potter, art educator and owner of Clay Trout Pottery, has been living in the South Coast of Massachusetts for most of her life. Her love of nature informs and inspires her paintings and clay works. For over 10 years, Kim has had her painting studio at Hatch Street. Her studio is full of vivid and dramatic oil paintings and drawings, which depict; shells, flowers, fruit and vegetables. This subject matter references the human form, gesture, memory and sensuality. Kim is also drawn to paint the coastal landscape of New England.
Ms Barry received her Associate of Fine Arts from Colby Sawyer, earned her BFA in Sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA in Painting from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She has taught both at the college level and high school. Ms Barry teaches painting, drawing and history and runs the Visual and Performing Arts Program at CATS Boston, an independent international prep school.
